I want to kiss the lips of a sunset's flame
so that I may know the passion beheld
in it's warmth. I want to feel the embrace
of Winter's snow so that I may know the chill
that beats within my soul. I want to fly
upon the winds that echo their howls
across the night so that I may hear
my own voice again. Everything inside me has fallen
fallen so deep within that when I try to reach toward
the breath of eternity I am only reminded of my sins.
This world so cruel has torn my heart into
shattered like the ice upon a winters pond.
I know not of this thing you call love...
this thing you feel when someone puts forth
their life for your own. I know not this thing
you call sadness because I never got the chance
to visit there along my journey to pain.
The light was out as I passed by it's doorway
so onward I struggled through the night of my life
whose meaning is still yet to be discerned.
I seek to sleep and dream of the things
that so many of you know but forever
I have been cast out upon this night
without the hope of ever kissing the
lips of a sunset's flame - without the hope
of knowing my true love's name.

This is my favorite of yours: poignant lines of being thrown out into the night and becoming one with Nature...because your lover let you down (again)!! Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
