I go too far on my long legs
but I'm not the daddy of them all;
I'm looking forward to diminution in my next life,
that time when I can stop the tall and ask,
What's the weather like up there?

Cut down to size,
I'll wear size six shoes
and hop on the bus
with the midget I've married.

I'll grow substantial in a shadow,
and what about the clock?
The little hand
has the hours,
and little people
have powers
beyond their ken.

beyond their ken.

I'm not very tall nor very big so I take your verses as a tribute and a welcome gift, Kenny. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Us pygmies and pot-bellied poets will hail you our Laureate, Kenneth! Hobbits of the world unite and, if you're not careful, we shall tie you down Lilliputian-style and force you to listen to our endless recitals until you cry for mercy! Small is beautiful and love the thoughtful consideration that has gone into this... to say nothing of your soft, clipped Scots brogue delicately addressing Thumbelina in the palm of your hand so as not to blow her away... Seven-league boots look good on you, McDuff, and you are growing poetic beanstalks from your endless diet of rice and seeds... Which do you fancy... golden egg for supper or the Irish harp to sing you to sleep? Your wish is my command as I curl into my flower-bell to sleep... Dainty and artistic.
