Prayer of A l l for an A l l New Year

May 2007 be our best year yet! May violence and inequality and the trampling of rights and opportunities and all other forms of inhumanity
lessen, and unity and compassion
increase. Joy to the world!

      Prayer of  A l l  for an  A l l  New Year

O Great Spirit, help us see what cannot be seen
with our eyes and hear what cannot be heard
with our ears and feel what cannot be felt
with our flesh and connect as we cannot connect
without swimming beyond our depth
and love as we cannot love without finding
in losing ourselves in the  bigger, better self
that none of us alone can ever hope to be.

O Great Spirit, help those of us who can see
with earth-living eyes to see that the sun
and the moon and the land and the tree
and the river and the mountain and the sea
speak through shimmers red, blue, yellow,
purple, orange, green, and brown, black, white
and every shade between because of the dust
from whence we come and will one day be.

O Great Spirit, thank you for every second
when skin, bone, and gristle give in to heart,
soul, and Spirit, as we dissolve into the rhythm,
melody and lyrics you create with us each time
we let  nature take her course and breathe
so all creation breathes and we do everything
in our power to be brave and speak the truth.
Thank you for every speck of life, every rush
of compassion,  every inkling that leads us
to find the divine in human and the human
in divine.  For the peace that comes of Love.

For the Love that Surpasses.

A world restless without divine love to undergird it. May 2007 indeed be the year that the world experiences an outpouring of this love that surpasses all human understanding.

"Prayer of A l l for an A l l New Year"... stimulates ontological awareness and leads the mind to thoughts of gratitude and spiritual beauty.

I salute You, Poet.
