Tapestry of Time

She came out of the mist, her long hair flowing down her back. I had been patiently waiting for her. It was not just today, but for a lifetime, that I have waited.

Her gaze met mine and all time seemed to stand still.
In a moment of truth, all was spoken, but not a word was voiced.
Nothing mattered. No one else existed except for our two hearts beating wildly as one.

I took a step forward, almost afraid that the vision before me would vanish and I would be left alone.

She met my every step until we were just a breath away.
I brushed my lips to hers and all our senses were afire with the passion that only two souls aching for joining could betray.

I moved away only to see her eyes. They mirrored all that I felt and more. Her hand brushed my brow and my hand her cheek. It was our first embrace that would signify the beginning.

She was mine as I was hers. Nothing would keep us apart.
We had started down the path of destiny, and our love would be woven into the tapestry of time.

"I took a step forward, almost afraid that the vision before me would vanish and I would be left alone."

As human beings, we are constantly experiencing the fear of loss, because we have a conscience.

But a love " woven into the tapestry of time" seems to be a lifetime experience, maybe even beyond.

Greetings,

Axilea

I was rambling about...as I often do in here...and ran across this throughly delightful and well written romance.
Your choice of putting it into prose poem format, I feel added to the beauty of this piece, which flows splendidly. It is a classy and classical piece.

Karen,

You weave a fantastic love story. When the voice is mute the hearts speaks. Your words are romantic and so well chosen.
