Can love really do that?

"A Hero Falls" while telling his girl that he has lied. About everything- except loving her. There's a comparison to this in the form of Satan walking the Earth...

---------------------------------------

A Hero Falls and nobody even notices. The world comes crashing down, and his worst fears are realized.

As the first gate to hell opens, a young man steps up to share the truth with an angel.

A Hero Falls and his last words go to the greatest treasure in his life. They speak the truths of every lie that has escaped him since they met.

Gates across the land give a freedom to the darkness that dwells within the depths of hell.

Her Hero Falls and hearing his words brings an amazing Amber gem to her knees. Her head rings and she tries to speak. Sobs echo out, but only angels hear them.

The skies grow dark, and the waters of the land run red as blood. A whisper becomes a roar as a Light is brought forth.

When God grants her the wisdom of how to respond, her mind dies. Her heart is exposed to ice cold truth, and starts to skip its beats.

Breathing comes heavy from a cloaked Spectre in the newly formed darkness. Basking in his tainted victory, a smile crosses the Figure's unholy mouth.

A Hero Falls and his quieted crying penetrates to the bone. A lovely, tear-stained yound lady questions the air, "My Hero has Fallen?"

Light pours forth from Lucifer as his cloak slides to the cracked earth on which he stands. With the eyes of an archangel he sees what demons cannot, then with the eyes of The Devil, he sees what angels cannot.

In one moment, thoughts move to the futue of darkness ahead. An instant of realization and decision decide the fate of one lost Hero.

Enjoying his godly presence, Lucifer spreads ivory wings in ironic mockery of his former master. Brilliantly horrifying, the Prince makes his way to a weak soul.

A Hero Falls, and with the silent sting of a silver blade, a life ends.

Lucifer calmly passes this Fallen Hero without a glance. "He was already gone" explains this demon's rational mind.

A Fallen Hero sees that the only promise left that he can keep is simple; he will be saving his love a spot in Aidenn.

Lucifer spreads a Black Hand, and darkness spreads with it. The Prince of Darkness becomes a King, and his victory is assured.

Darkness seems to cover all but the Fallen Hero's Angel, and through her tears she realizes what she must do. Her love is, and always will be strong- even though her Hero is gone.

This young woman walks a lonely road through the blackness, but the simple love she feels drives it back.

Lucifer stands, awestruck as he's forced back into his dark domain by an impossibly and infinately powerful force. He regains his composure among ash and brimstone and rests in his throne. All is as it should be, and all is where it began, except Lucifer. Noticed by those who see it, the Seraph's wings finally reflect his being. Once ivory; glowing as heaven, full as the Eagle's wings, they're now crippled. His wings are of ebony, shining like the Raven's. But tattered and torn, these wings will never again hold him aloft. His vision is irrepararably damaged, confined to the vision of a demon.

A Fallen Hero watches from above with a smile. There's an angel on earth with enough love to shed the world of Darkness- and with all that love, she gives her love to a Fallen Hero.

A Hero Falls, and waits.
He waits for love.
He waits for his Angel...
He waits for His Hero.

And there will always be Heroes, because no true Hero ever really falls at all...

A splendid picture of the mutual essence of heroic love. I enjoyed this bitter sweet tale of victory and an unsung heroines emergence.
