This poem is about the increasing danger of nuclear weapons DUE TO A TECHNICAL PROBLEM MOVE THE SIDEBAR DOWN
TO READ THE POEM

The news on the TV came with much shock and fright
Doomsday clock advanced to five minutes before midnight
For decades our leaders have failed to act wisely we say
So now 30 nations can produce nuclear bombs at any day

Nine already have the bomb the generals list as fighting tools
And we, our civilization, look less intelligent than utter fools

Surely we must ask if Euripides was right when he wrote so sad
"Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad"

How else explain 27,000 nuclear bombs existing worldwide
Knowing exploding a few hundred or less would be suicide
We cannot endure fools and their folly in the coming years
Or the nuclear nightmare will surely end in eternal tears

Time to act with an iron will

And never rest nor ne still

Until all nukes abolished from the earth
Making way for a great rebirth

A new civilization based on respect for life
With world law to end war and violent strife
This must come to pass to reach that universal date
When the human drama reveals its mysterious fate

sad... and the BIG BIG BIG problem is that "deadly weapons" are only "deadly" when they are point as us! Because if we have them pointed to someone else they are not, they will never be: "deadly weapons" but simple: "defense weapons"! So... What can be done if no one wants to see something as simple as this?! :) Pum! Explode all of us...
