just a thought that popped in my head today

Maybe it never meant anything to you
but it meant everything to me
crying my heart out between
sheets of poetry
Maybe I just messed up
and lost you along the way
caught up in my life
and you got tired of being on the
sidelines, yes, I think that's what happened.
Maybe that's the lie I'll say
to myself at night
when I hug empty sheets
and pillows real tight
Maybe that night never meant
nothing to you
just a moment to get me out
of your system
I wish maybe I never let us
go that far
Because I miss that touch
Because I miss what can never be
That richness that used to exist between us
you shut down
you won't talk to me
you ignore my calls and little
you turn your cheek
you walk away
I cry at night
But maybe it's my fault
Maybe it just wasn't to be
I just am tired of being alone
Missing you like hell
Got to move on from this feeling
I must go back out and find things to do
So I won't feel blue
So I will realize again,
that getting caught up in my life
Ain't what life is about
Life's about those little moments
that are precious
Life is about much more than what I focused on
It's what should be lived for

Life's about those little moments
that are precious
Life is about much more than what I focused on
It's what should be lived for

That says it all. I always looked at the word Maybe like the word If. But when I too refocused that's when I realized that you got to live life to the fullest and what is meant to be will happen.
