A Poem from: Poetic Thoughts from the Heart of a woman that references my very own - loveable son.

The Man Inside My Son

I watch, through loving eyes, my son
as he steps out of his skin into another
time and space of uncertainty

I watch his face as it grows with concern
for the world around him
I carried him as far as I could
in hopes that he would become the man
that he is becoming before my eyes, today

It is as though he floats through a symphony
in space, moving above the clouds as they form
the notes to a melody of a mother's song, sung

He sings through all of the masculine melody
and through his awkward silence, he stands-
tall, and firm and strong, listening

There is an unspoken language that tells him that
it is time that he begins to transform into a natural,
feeling and loving being

I watch -through loving eyes, my son, delivering
his silent promise to me, that he would be tender,
yet competent, loving, yet perceptive

I am thankful and grateful to God, that my son is
within rhythm of his heart, exposing an emotionally
whole being-with emotions that flow through him like that
of a river, never ending, only bending

He is a son that is nurturing, yet courageous
He is a man who knows what he feels inside of himself'
He is a man that is not afraid of what he feels

My son is brave enough to follow his heart as he stands
firm and tall and strong, defining masculinity and strength
through the watchful eyes of a loving mother, who allows him to see
the man inside

I love you Taavon

This is well done like a good T-Bone Steak. I admire your motherhood. You're not overbearing but much like a pot letting your son your seed grow into his manhood while you support his rising. I congratulate you one being a great mother and know that your son will make you proud of his upbringing. Very Inspiring Piece of Poetry!

I'm certain Taavon gets that warm, tingling feeling in his belly when he reads these words. You've done a great, poetic job of describing your love for him.

My "Rubber Purple Dinosaur" was written for my son when he was 5. We men have these feelings too.
