A piece I wrote as lyrics, but the artist didn't want. Dunno why... Enjoy.

Sitting outside the Cangrande Hotel

Cafť at dusk, dusty shades of pearl

Hanging around after song was through

No place to go, even less to do

Thought Iíd call it a night, head to bed

Then turned at a voice, heard what she said:

Cara mia, please, donít walk away

Iíve been waiting hours. Wonít you stay?

We could stroll in the park, like lovers do

Playing out our parts, just me and you

Dance together close, drink Soave wine,

Feel Romeoís kiss, when your lips touch mine

Cara mia, please, donít run away

Give your Juliette just one more day.

She was wearing black silk, her sweater white

Grief in her eyes denied her sun-drenched smile

Dark hair sparkled under chandelier light

Leonardo portrait in star-crossed style

Tears in clear voice, she caught her breath

Smoothed her skirt, then once more said:

Give your Juliette just one more day

Cara mia, please, donít run away

We could stroll in the park, me and you

Playing out our parts, like lovers do

Drink Romeoís kiss, when your lips touch mine,

Dance together close, sip Soave wine

Cara mia, please, donít walk away

Itís our forever, wonít you stay?

Not a word, I watched her turn around

Without applause, showís curtain came down

He reached out, tried to take her hand

Hurried after her, when she strode past

As I paid the waiter, I heard him say

Crying in the dark, as she walked away:

Cara mia, please, wonít you stay?

Juliette, please, donít dance away.

Romeoís touch, sweet Soave wine,

Let me kiss your lips one more time.

Great offering!!

The "Cara mia made me think many years back...I was playing the leading roll in a play.....ver serious play it was...called "The Ring"...and Each time my knight said the words "CARA MIA MY LOVE"...I use to burst out in laughter.....not sure if it was the pathetic look on his face or the way he said the words...but I just could not handle it well....lol!!

At the end we had to cover it up with a few extra lines to set my mind straight!!
