Written in Sandusky, Ohio.

Over the sidesdrop,
Man sips on the strange love.
Swirling feeling like a space shudder,
Wondering when morning will come.
A bird,
A boat,
A man in a coat,
The island of dreams.
To know no one at a distance,
The feverish ball,
Woman in the air,
A loud last fall.
Bang sang the Summer breeze,
Itching and flowing with the wavy trees.
Wonder in anticipation from the old sacred seeing,
Hone in the parade from the enchanted being.
At last a sign of the sun!
Waves look purple as they move to a moaning radio that's pumping Phish.
I think,
You wink,
Remember to breathe,
Standing up to the glowing sky.
Lights in the town blink and weave.
Freaking out in a small tent,
A new world up and bent.
Some show of fear while others prance and hear.
We're getting out of here!
When you say,
It's for all of us to know,
The island is so wonderful showcasing Summer for many years to come.

The Island (French Translation) Dedicated to Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine...

i loved how your poem captured the small things; intent; pervasive; evocative in places. .. the drip.drop of words and and breath-caught phrases. ..must read some more of you~
