Words give voice to those forces that underlie and permeate the universe, channelling them through human consciousness. These words are the voice of misery and death... a spell of the mind, the voice of murder...

Hear them for yourself...

How I'd LOVE to hear Ozzy Osbourne attack these words - Ozzy - are you out there, my brother...?

A Spell of Death

Be still my thoughts

Lie sleepy mid the graves of empty dreams

Hold fast my darkling spirit

Spit acid poison into times’ mysterious streams

Freeze the glint of eye and tear

Murder every photon piercing night

Kill the beating of all hearts

Bathe the world in stillborn, rattling fear

Of frozen solitude make all their days anew

Distill the gall of death’s unliving spark

Wake humankind to blindness and to fear

Kill the light with spells all woven of the dark

Sow death among the fields of corn

Sow hatred where there once was love

In pain shall all repent they’re born

As bloodied, from the sky careers God's murdered dove

And every child shall spit into its parents’ eyes

And every man a murderer be

The darkness of the human heart

Shall raise its monument to me

Oh! Spin and whirl great deathly vertigo of hell

And thunder silent bells, as life retreats

And shadow spirits wonder through all minds

Now hush! Your hearts no longer beat.

Very dark and deeply woven with many senses running rampant in each line...The awakening of death and its orders rein in all of its beings....Deep...Very deep Keith..

A bit scary Keith. "and thunder silent bells" the senses all askew. I'm glad I pursue the light rather than the dark. Call me chicken.

Oh my goodness!!!! Is this another Sunday night in Bangor, Keith? Sounds a bit familiar. Sorry - the eyes in your biog pic rather startled me and I thought of nights spent in the dim and distant past behind a few Welsh headstones, lined up so regimentally in your Chapel grounds. And they're HUGE compared to out diddly little English ones. Black humour is begotten by such astoundingly good and sophisticated dark writing. This is not the stuff of ghoulies and ghosties but of a genuine commitment to the Seriously Heavy. Have you linked up with Paul Williams across the Pennines there? You could do Double Dark. Love and Light from Kate xx :))
You stopped mine there for a moment Keith, these lines are suffused with indricate patterns of death hand, brought to light by your delicate touch of imagery E.A.Poe, be brought of you! Are you there? then Blessings! Jasmin Horst

Vivid and dark imagery, creatively done. This is a powerful piece; you have personified death expertly with some amazing lines. Great flow, too!
