Aching and throbbing,
Canít get away
From the pain in my feet,
Day after day.

Sleepless Iím tossing
Night after night,
Throbbing and aching
Has become part of life.

Both feet I have fractured;
Lifeís turned upside down.
I am now so dependant
ĎCause I canít get around.

Canít walk too far,
And canít drive the car,
And shopping is out,
Since I canít get about.

So at two in the morn
I stifle a yawn,
And sit in my chair
With my feet in the air.

Canít walk and canít sleep;
Through the house I do creep,
Make myself a hot drink,
It helps me to thinkÖ

Nearly three in the morn,
And I stifle a yawn.
Should I go back to bed?
Maybe lay down my head?

Try to get some more sleep?
But the pain it does keep
Me away from the bliss
Of the one thing I miss;

Thatís a whole night of sleep.
Oh, that pain in my feet
I guess should soon be gone
And again, life can go on.

This poem was written last year after I fractured both feet

This one surprised me...but my feet always I was drawn to it... simple title... painfully written and shared!

I've never hurt my feet like that, but have hurt my back!
You did a superb job of conveying the impact pain had on you.
Enjoyed the way you ryhmed in such a meaningful way.
I look forward Cheryl to reading more of your writing. :)

I feel your pain. You did an excellent job of capturing the pain as well as the self-made prison it created through lack of mobility and loss of freedom.
