Darkness

There's a darkness in my soul but a smile on my face.

There's a darkness around me.

It crushes.

It envelops.

It swallows up.

It devours.

It is infinite.

It is unbroken.

Except for one pinprick of light.

The light that remains when all others go out.

The light that shatters darkness.

That breaks its grip.

That weakens its hold.

That pushes it away.

That burns it up.

Because darkness cannot remain while there is light left.

...can it?

As long as there is light there will always be hope, well said...
