Another for my anthology for children (and anyone who reads to kids or loves dogs!) about breeds of dogs.

J'adore un Labrador
How can you not fully adore
The happy aspect of a Labrador?
The otter tail, the silly grin,
The open heart to take you in.
Sweet true love from earnest eyes
Emotional truth, a friend so wise.
At play, at work, at rest, at ease,
The Labrador was born to please.

A loving tribute to that special friend of yours. He's as black as night, but what pretty teeth he has. They look so smooth and even. Isn't that silly of me to notice. LOL

A beautiful write for a wonderful friend...there is nothing like the love and companionship of that special canine friend....I recently lost my best friend, my beloved Boomer whom I had loved and cared for and whom had loved and watched over me for nearly eleven years. My heart is heavy with grief as I write...as it has only been three days. I posted my tribute to her this morning, you can read through my blog what happened...a very painful and unusual incident...enjoyed the write my friend!
Blessings from Ky.

Gotta Love The Lab! Right now I've got a black lab named Tater - one of my Katrina pups who actually helped me rescue other animals. He wants to be everyone's pal, he loves and plays like there's no tomorrow, and he's my swimming buddy. Gotta Love The Lab!

Labradors have great personalities. Your stories has brought up so many memories for me. Your poem is so cute but I'm going to challenge you to add in vivid scenes and action of what she does while at play, work, rest or ease. I helped my father when he was a puppy raiser for 'International Guiding Eyes. North, a powerful (very white) labrador was chasing me (all in fun) from behind and flipped me into the air. When I landed on my back, the breath knocked completely out of me, he immediately sobered, layed snugly at my side and put his nose on my neck as if to check my pusle and to protect. Vi (yellow), was in love with my father, spoiled, and refused to let me sit in the front seat of his jeep. We always ended up squished together; me by the window and her closer to my dad. Fancy (yellowish-white), a little devil, always dropped rocks on my head when I layed down to read or sleep. She caught on quick when watching my father and I tear out carpet and to our dismay joyfully dived in to help out -big mistake. She use to bite my toes then bounce back with a whiny yelp making my father believe someone was causing her harm -definitely a devilish little fiend.
