A Dissertation of Love

Like Madame and Pierre Curie,
Love bloomed in the laboratory.
We should all be so lucky!

Quivering dichotomous masses,

Shared a binaural beating heart,

Souls intertwined in stereo,

Dreamed of creating a star!

Lightning in a plasma cloud,

+ Cosmic thunder in a jar,

 = Implosion of H + He+ O,

Viola! Nuclear fusion starts!

The mathematics involved was complex,

They worked feverishy into the night,

Formulae applied started the fire,

Bringing explosions of energy and light!

The university became famous,

With the reward of the Nobel Prize,

 Both shared the coveted honor,

The physicists were very surprised!

3.2 years after Dad married Mom,

Their accolades were lavish at first,

The passion of their love once ablaze,

No longer quenched the Dad's thirst

32 anniversaries came and went,

Their kids all were now grown,

Cruelly ignoring their mother,

Running her from her home!

320 trips going around the sun,

Their poor mother K. still live on,

Dad and Kid's skulls overgrown,

Thickets poking through eye holes,

Centerville now keeps their bones!

Love they say makes the world go 'round. Though all things pass away given enough time, love will always abound. Thank you for this excellent write.

Excellent! A short epic (is that an oxymoron?) written with knowledge aforethought! I enjoyed it, Rocky.
Best regards,

Wow, Rockie, this one ignites and starts a fire of tradition and warmth...with a lab coat. It's very unique and perfectly well written.

Outstanding depicting of an ontologic vision through the lenses of a learned soul... "A Dissertation of Love" glows by the Sirius of Poetry.

I salute You, Poet.

This tells the story of life in a most unusual manner. Love the metaphors. Great poem.
