A summer's day once upon a time.

The Wonder of Your Touch

As the morning fog appears

and gently glides upon the land,

is precisely how I remember

the holding of your hand.

Gracefully it lifted, floating

found my open palm

Where it safely rested,

My racing heart was calm.

Lovingly your gentle touch

Caressingly seemed to say

My love, I’m here at last,

enjoy this memorable day.

So timidly our hands embraced

our fingers intertwined,

As we spoke of love and longing

On such feelings our hearts did dine.

So many things were said

when silence filled the air.

Your elegant presence was enough

just seeing you sitting there.

Our souls had found each other

Connecting in numerous ways.

Longing to be together

and lengthen out our days.

In many ways our spirits expressed

the love we felt so much.

And still in my heart, my dear

Is the memory of your touch.

So when you see the morning fog

reach out and caress the land

It's simply a gentle reminder, love,

Of how I  held your hand.

Love the simplicity of this writing. Hand holding is sometimes all we need

I like how this poem comes full circle. Creative descriptions of hand-holding; you make the emotions come to life. Well done!

Exquisite..."My racing heart was calm." portrays excitement with such calmness... well done.
