Please lets help our youth be the best no matter what size they are

BULIMIA

The scale hits 101

I stop eating since I

Like double digits not triple

I’m 5’6 and I’m

Fat

I eat and purge

I want to be in the Star Magazine for

My talent and not for

Another youth with an eating disorder

But I see what Hollywood wants

Size 0’s not 4’s or 8’s

I stop eating

Purging has caused my throat to bleed

I’m killing myself just because I want to be

Te next Miley Cyrus

I have talent; my agent keeps telling me so.

I’m now in a hospital bed with tubes in my veins

Not a picture for

The Star Magazine.

My eating disorder is killing

Me.

I just wanted to be in the

Star Magazine for my talent

And not for another youth

That died from Bulimia

The centered format works well for this poem. There is a certain visual symmetry that you played with that is also similar to the visual image of the word star. This is a good message, although, I think that no matter what magazines try to show or sell, if young girls were psychologically stronger and not so keen on self-destruction and doubt, they would simply not comply. It all takes place in the family, at a very young age, I think.
Nice work, thank you.

Too bad society can't accept women for whom they are on the outside and must dictate what is "normal": their definition isn't mine. Well penned.
