Holly Would

The dreamer lives the life we all contemplate.

Would it be worth it?

The first, second, third eye... increasing numbers of visuals and spotlights.

The proverbial "fish bowl."

It takes years,

Lies, rejection, betrayal and tears,

To obtain the burden of losing privacy,

Of losing yourself.

How can you measure a dream?

Happiness is all relative,

Success is superficial,

Adoration is obsolete when the audience is ignorant.

I suppose the easiest thing, the realest thing,

Is to keep sleeping.

To wake would only face the reality of the American Dream.

Hey Kacie! It's nice to read you again. I appreciate the philosophical perspective that you offer here. I am reading your poem for the third time. You grabbed my soul with these verses. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
