Words, Resurrected

10 poems, found

written in the 70s

hidden in the bottom

of an antique steamer trunk

Resurrected like saints.

Words, like broken, stained glass,

forgotten till now,

surfacing like ancient scrolls.

Words, scribbles of postpartum bluz,

           forgotten till now,

outdated,faded lines of betrayal,

severed promises of a cheating heart.

Words, written from left to right without regard for margins,

resurrecting the life of a shattered past.
