Spring Fever
I think I’ve got Spring fever
I don’t know what else it can be
I mope around as if I have nothing to do
Gazing outside at my old oak tree.
I’ve lost all interest in household chores
My work habits have hit a lazy decline
The television offers no support at all
Nor my recliner as it groans beneath my behin’.
I take too many naps during the day
Put off doing the things I should do
I stare out of the window pane at nature
At a gorgeous sky so bright and blue.
I think of seashores and ocean waves
Of sandy beaches warm beneath my feet
Of vendors selling Cokes and hotdogs
To give my stomach a satisfying treat.
Yes, I think I’ve got Spring fever
I’m drawn to the great outdoor scenes
I want to lull around in its magnificent beauty
Soaking up the sun in my favorite old jeans.
I want to feel the sun against my face
Feel the breeze blowing through my hair
Hear the birds, squirrels and bees
Celebrating their spring-time fair.
