You told me that you love me,
but why do you treat me like you hate me?

I heard an old saying, that "A soft spoken word turns away wrath".

Why then do you speak so harsh?

Can't you see the marks that now fill my once beautiful brown skin?

I just can't seem to understand what kind of love you have for me.

Please, tell me why?

As I sit in front of my mirror trying to cover these marks with makeup.
I see my little girl standing by my door with tears running down her cheeks.

How do I explain this to her?

Why do I except this from you?

Where can I gain the strength to just walk away?

Is this the pattern I seek for my baby girl?

Oh no!

Today is another day.

I try to watch my words carefully with you.

It doesn't take much before I'm feeling the wrath of your hand against my body.

I can't even ask you a question without you getting mad.

Then you ask me a question and if I don't say what you want to hear
then here comes the wrath.

You won't listen to my opinions so I keep them to myself.

The question I ask myself over and over again is....

Today I finally received my answer to my question why?

On my way to the laundry I met a stranger standing right outside my front door.

I was handed a piece of paper that said.

"Are you a women being abused or do you know one that is?

If so we meet every Tuesday at Prayer House Of God and Deliverance
"where you find true prophecy".

I had only one question for the group.

Why love someone like me?

Being with my husband for so long my self esteem had slowly disappeared.

Now proudly, I can say I have the strength to walk away and have regained high self esteem.

I found out that there is no greater love than the love God has showed me.

I can teach my daughter that she doesn't have to go through the hurt and pain she saw her mother go through.

That she doesn't have to ask that question,

Very nice Debra and heart felt. Hope you were not talking about yourself. Whether you were or not, this is very nice. Why??? I always wonder Why myself would a man harm something so precious, gentle and treasured.
