She’s felt his presence often
to her he’s something feared
stalking her forever
seeming to never leave her side
leaving tiny reminders
she wishes he’s disappear
He follows her every moment
slips in where she resides
daring her to do something
trap him if she can
but her efforts are all in vain
even sleep which is restless
never frees him from her mind
What can she do to mislead him
a different hairstyle or disguise
seems nothing sways her tormentor
help is a useless course
for whom could she turn to
hear her fears of him so near
inside her heart it races
everywhere she turns he’s there
No police or federal agents
would she dare to cast her pleas
insane would be their comments
absurd would be her words
no proof of trespass or person
assault is not the case
how can she end this silent stalking
free herself from his confines
she runs yet cannot hide
From here to there and every where
her well being races to and fro
dare she sit but for a moment
and risk more of his unreasoned anger
more marks upon her skin
anguish buried within her mind
depleting her of resources
stealing what’s rightfully hers
using her for his personal canvas
her body for his spiteful pleasure
In almost every store front
she looks and he is there
dashing away to silent shadows
to a house where blinds are closed
in the bathroom once again he finds her
she shivers then gives in acceptance
letting him take her soul and will
she lets him do as he’s done to others
yet finds he commits no ghastly crime
to a mirrored image she admits defeat
and gives in to father time.
