Her beautiful blue eyes can make you forget she's in pain.
But tears flow down her soft cheeks like rain.
She holds a pencil so awkward to write her name.
Her tiny contracted fingers she uses just the same.
She scurries down the hall to show she can run.
Her swollen knees and tiny feet won't stop her fun.
Her disease so crippling but she won't let it win.
Her spirit is so free that she draws everyone in.
She's a beautiful child that loves to laugh and play.
Her captivating smile brightens even the darkest day.
Her heart so warm so loving and so giving.
She makes the world a better place and life worth living.
She is my beautiful baby girl so vibrant that's for sure.
If sadness is a disease then Shauna is the cure.
My eyes drift down because they can't hide the pain.
As tears fall down my quivering cheeks like rain.
