The land’s decorated in yellow and pink
Sunning lovers kiss lazily over a drink
Springtime’s got a way of making you think
some fairytales last forever
But in the blink of an eye
it’s all over
we’re through
and we’re stumbling at the brink of disaster
We don’t even know where we’re going
it’s true
but we still want to get there faster
Don’t worry ‘bout the world burning up in the sun
We can roll in the money
just keep having fun
‘cause in the land of the blind
the one-eyed man’s king
Everything’s fine ‘til life brings what it brings
So don’t count the seconds or minutes or hours
Drive a big fast car
gazing out at the flowers
Bad things do happen to good people
it’s so
Still doesn’t take a giant leap of faith to know
most of us were hiding our heads in the sand
Destruction of paradise wasn’t quite what we planned
We made a wasteland out of the Garden of Eden
No problems ahead if we don’t want to see them
Don’t see hunger or war
Don’t see what we created
bringing death door to door
It’s no wonder some hate us
A little place decorated in blue and in gold
No need to worry ‘bout whose future we sold
In the end nothing matters
leave behind all our things
Just a speck in the sun
same for paupers and kings
Springtime’s got a way of making you think
some fairytales last forever
