On a salty shore,

Father and daughter did stand,

Hand in hand is the way they went,

Naked footprints left in sand,

             Were they to embark,

On a quest you ask,

I cannot truly say,

But that is where you'll find them,

Each and every day,

It had become a frequent journey,

Of learning for each to hold,

Her face would shine,

And her smile did laugh,

At the stories father told,

             As each day's sun,

Bid them farewell,

Dipping low behind,

The body of blue,

They would take this time,

To share their thoughts,

And savor the splendid view,

             No hurry were,

The wandering pair,

No particular place to be,

I guess that's what,

Makes this such,

A special treat for thee,

Most words would not be needed,

Or even spoken aloud,

Out here by the ocean,

Away from all the crowd,

               The precious gifts,

Of peace and joy,

Passed easily between,

Their comfort came,

From within their bond,

Not needing to be seen,

                The mere presence of,

The other one,

Was undoubtedly the key,

To smoothing out the wrinkles,

Taking solace by the sea,

                Those times are now,

A breath gone by,

A lingering of the past,

The baby girl,

Has all grown up,

And left the nest at last,

                 But when the father,

Felt the need,

To step inside the dream,

He would walk again,

The sandy beaches,

Where the constant waters teem,

                 And when the man,

Did return,

On his cheek,

A single tear,

For now he knew,

His little angel,

Forever would be near.
