Curves with inlay
sculpt like a woman...

White Ice
She found the concealed passions;
Speaking to her restless soul…
I was building a totem at the time;
The pagan fire brought indoors…

Winter solstice brought snowfall;
My hearth is sandalwood redbrick
with a 7’ mahogany shelf mantle…
Curves with inlay sculpt like a woman.
Masonry set within charcoal grey,
stretching entrance across the wall,
like thighs spread for hungered lovers…

My totem of wood I kindled with emotion;
I used my heart to build my fireside flames-
Scrap papers from my poetic manuscripts;
Never waste the elements offered…
I gave back to my impassioned muse;
And the fire grew hot… dancing scarlet’s;
Crimson’s orange blaze…within sapphire hues…
Yellow’s gold licking white ice…

…My fire burns

The coolest metaphor! It's inside the pod! Swelling up to Poster Print size and tack it above the hearth! It's good to see those starlings so fat...group survival and healing fires melt the thighs...what's above will never see White Ice, that place just below the navel ring of Pagan fires...warm desires.

Vickie, The 'heat' rises from this poem, "yellow's gold licking white ice... ...My fire burns" You are 'bad' and that is good!

You've chased the chill from this cold winter's morn. Fantastic scene setting and the imagery rocks! I like the line "...pagan fire brought indoors". Past and present intersecting. Fine work, Victoria. Blessings...Lin
