The Black Knight That Left a Blu Heart

Betwixt and between
Tormenting Thoughts
About this one and that one
So in so vs. so in so
One heart of half gold
One heart black and ICE COLD

Mr. Black turned his back on the white cat
Then he showed up and asked to see her again
Her need for a happy ending
Led her into a familiar den

One hidden conversation of which she had no idea about
That late night phone call
That caused her to leave out
Of her own safe haven
In the middle of the night
It was quiet and dark
No one was in sight
There were soft words spoken during a last night together
Her guilt was as heavy as a brick
His touch was as light as a feather

When they awoke
Mr. Black went on with his life
To him, that night made him KING
He cared not about his brother or the damsel’s feelings
After all, he had won the championship ring

Unbeknownst to them all
There would be no real winners
Just confused almost adults
All with their own agendas
Causing years of unspeakable pain
That left at least 2 out of 3 terribly hurt
Their feelings were RAW and SORE
Friendships were crumbled and on the floor

The cat licked her wounds
She healed and went on to marry
Word is that Mr. Half Gold has a good life and a good wife
Mr. Cold was not so lucky
Solitude is his friend, with many years to tarry

Reflection was sometimes agonizing
Yet, it was necessary to do
Although the damsel forgave long ago
She has never forgotten
The Black Knight who Left her Blu

Nicely portrayed. These are the experiences that shapes us, and they give inspiration to great poetry such as this. Thank you for sharing.
