Strife of train / tube travellers in London

Could one move down in the middle of the train
A polite request with no disdain
Blank looks at best from those with space
Others show scorn upon their face

Sardines at home beside the door
But space for feet we search some more
The men that read "The Times" near by
They'll give you room.....and pigs will fly

The popular station it now approaches
We'll all get off these crowded coaches
Those at the door will fall out first
But now the middle man's at his worst

They don't move down for people to board
But push right past the leaving hoard
To alight in first place is all they're after
Ignoring derision and sarcastic laughter

But now the train is not so full
The middle men less, they're on the dole
Arrogant passengers when they're incumbent
Now not so clever cos they're redundant

Witty and well penned, enjoyed

This is well-written, really tight (no pun intended), I like it alot. Plus, it reminds me of my first of 4 trips to London and a poor man who was stuck in the middle of the tube, holding on the the thingy hanging down from the top of the car, and being all crammed in like sardines, and at the next stop, MORE people actually tried to squeeze in where not even a mouse could have squeezed and the man in the middle yelled, "EXCUSE ME, CAN'T YOU SEE THAT NO ONE ELSE CAN FIT IN HERE??" LOL, thanks for the memory and the laugh.
