Wound Too Tight

The 300 Spartans stood defiant and brave
As 200.000 Persians moved in mass
They would wipe these arrogant Spartans out
And then soon they would take the pass

But wave by wave the Persians fell
As Leonidas and his men held fast
And a fear it gripped the Persian force
Cause' a spell it seemed had been cast

So they aimed their bows at the Spartan line
A cloak of arrows filled the air
The sun it was blanked out in the sky
Now the light it was no longer there

The Spartans held their shields above
And the arrows failed in their task
So the Persians sent the immortals in
In Spartan blood these men would bask

But the Spartans took the immortals on
And they held the pass that day
But a traitor knew how to get behind
And he showed the Persians the way

So the Persians crept up from the rear
And King Leonidas knew they were lost
But they fought till not one man remained
And death was their final cost

They bravely had fought unsurmountable odds
Earned respect right up until this day
In a valley in Thermopylae
Is where the valiant 300 Spartans lay

Spartans...these wars were fought with vigor! The armor of men those days were not only their shields but their hearts set with purpose!

Thank you for reminding us to be brave in battle no matter what the cost!

Wonderful!
