I don't know where else to put this, so I will post it through Poetry...

Old Hacks and Wannabee's

Has been said to my person of late,
that folks in here, are seriously behind the eight
ball  headed for the pocket

They'e old and past it, eye's drooping in the socket

They don't write books of any noteriety
Were just a bunch of losers crammed into this society
I am angry beyond words knowing this is INDEED CRAP
So to all my dear friends, give this your best rap!

They say Listeners never hear any good of themselves
Well, stalkers and spies who read in here and make these rude assumptions/remarks, let them get an eyeful..Please....

Ty Noted Authors, ( who we all know have made it there and back long ago.

Love Ch'erie

A writer's anthem, so well said. It's hard to be chasing a dream, but if we don't it won't fall in our laps. This poem is inspiring and insightful. Thank you for sharing it! Hugs,

... we are who we are, we write what we write... we love and need each other... we are perhaps hopeless addicts to both pen and the family community we so thrive on here. All yardsticks of measure seem pointless to me and our aims and aspirations are as myriad as the reasons and motivations we have to write in the first place. I am not well-seasoned in the vast world of writing sites, but thank God I found this one and wouldn't even think of joining another. AD is a great recipe as far as I'm concerned - whatever each one thinks of him/herself or of each other. Truth is, each "master" has produced crap at some stage and each "scribbler" a total, eye-popping masterpiece; we each have the potential for both within us all the time. It's not our writing that's important, but the cameraderie, support and family feelings we share. Nuff said, I reckon! :)) xx

People telling you that kind of crap are the ones missing a few tiles on their intellectual roof.

There are NO old hacks or Wannabee's in here!!!
There are only people with the heart and soul to write, what comes from within, to please, to share, and to grow!
It is the ppl in here that make the written literature a joy to behold, as it comes from the heart, with no other goal in mind, but for the readers enjoyment. It is the will of the POET to Please.
Those who write Novels, with the express purpose of becoming famous, in their own minds, for a time may enjoy the fruits, but inside they are empty,as the motivation is not true to heart.
My greatest Admiration is for My Friends, who I am proud to call friends, and always will be. When I joined this guild 10 years ago, one of the members welcomed me heartily and praised my work. She herself is an accomplished Author, whose heart still remains the same, first and foremost with those dearest to her..It is for all of us, the love of the QUILL.

There are many many accomplished Authors within, who do not have exalted opionions of their own self importance, and thus they stay friends and enjoy the company of others..

A Racehorse Runs like the wind, earns a cup for it's master, and then is relegated to the pastures to either try the next time, or sire other foals. The So called Hack, or work horse, used to hitch to the carts, steadily plods along all the days of it's life, and only when it is numbering greatly in years does it see the pasture..
What is a man's measure in life, to please all the days of his life, to serve others in his craft, or to win the glorious cup for a heavy taskmaster, and 5 mins in the spotlight???
I know my preference, as does everyone else who has come forth and commented here today.

May God bless you all abundantly, Keep on writing, keep on pleasing..
Love to all

I still cringe whenever I look at my poetry or some of my early stories. They are more of a child's scribblings than that of an adult; now I write a lot better than I did (but can always have room for more improvement; am always trying to better my craft as a writer!). You might be an "old hack", Chezza, but dang, you're a darn good one! Enjoyed this one!

Well done, and Happy Australia Day!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your M8 in America, Kazza in Texas. :D

My Grandmother used to say "If you don't respect them, then thier opinion does not matter" I wouldn't trade this den for nutting honey.

Rose is on the spot, let's just write. AD means so much to me, no matter my mood, I always find something that hits home.

OOO, A club to join in a decade or few.
Hmmm, within the first 30 mins, my last story had over 1400 copies taken. No idea how many now, what is more i do nee care. But for legal reasons writing under a pseudonym how can such say as much.
No fears, the likes are the losers. It is easy to tell the boxer in the ring what to do and how bad he is, but lets see the likes in the boxers ring. Opps not a good analogy seeing my skill is wing chun and does knock a boxer down PDQ.. lol

Mon Cherie just enjoy, who gives a damn what others say.
Write for fun, fun, fun... xxx

I consider myself an old hack at times and also a wanna be and know what? I am proud to be so for it means I have not given up. I do have published works but I always feel I should keep on goint and keep on hacking until my mind gives up on my heart. Then I will stop being a wannabe...and if anyone don't like that...they just don't need to read me.
