i thought that i was over it
i thought i'd be just fine
i thought that i'd stop caring
and know where draw the line
i thought you'd given up on it
i thought you'd had enough
i thought you'd stop believing
because you said times were tough
i didn't think i'd feel like this
i didn't think i'd cry
i didn't think i'd be confused
and forced to ask you why
i didn't think you'd be this way
i didn't think you'd bend
i didn't think you'd turn out to
be just like other men

you make me want to sing
you make me want to laugh out loud
but more than anything
i cry when you're away from me
i cry when you get mad
i cry when you dont seem to care
about the thoughts i've had
i wish you'd just believe me
i wish you'd make it right
i wish you'd see me crying for you
when daytime turns to night
and maybe then you'd understand
how much i care for you
but 'til the day you find my thoughts
i don't know what to do...

Delightful!
I know that you are lamenting something here,
and that the undercurrents reflect deep emotion,
but the flow is great and the poem would lend itself
nicely to being a song. Good job Lainey!
