Osprey calls my name by john k zimmerman Friday, March 26, 2010 Rated "G" by the Author. Share Print Save Become a Fan An acquaintance asked me if I still missed the north. "Everyday". I replied. This is a recasting of an earlier poem "OSPREY"
Once more I hear the osprey cry My name across the northern sky But I am far away from there Osprey searches night and morn for all that she claims as northern born I remain in my prison here. The gale that sweeps to me her call binds me here in this damp hall Shackled to a stinking southern river Perhaps in death northward I shall roam in that green paradises to make my home Close to the osprey that calls to me there Once more I hear the osprey cry my name across the northern sky
