"Save Our Earth"
by Amber "V" Moonstone

S ilence is heard

A nother tree falls

V isual disaster prevails

E very quake is felt

O ver miles of broken land

U nder the starless ash filled night

R ays  of moonbeams penetrate the clouds

E arth is dying

A re we going to save her?

R e-use, re-cycle, re-store,

T he Earth's precious resources

H ear Mother Earth's cry for help!

They're widening the highway around here, and the wild turkeys now pad through mounds of dirt in a blast area. Not to mention the other wildlife being killed regularly for the needs of Day Walkers. It's too bad that society sees the need to recycle and go green, but doesn't realize that the Earth would benefit from a staggered work force instead of building more highways and destroying resources because too many people have day hours. I'm glad you're spreading the word, Amber! Keep these messages coming:)

Yes! Good words. May we start to become "one" with the earth instead of conquerors.

I sadly doubt that, more and more each day now. But if anyone will save her, it has to be today's children - we adults have failed miserably.

Amber and althoug most people spread gloom and doom...I like the idea that our young are actually more attuned to ever to saving this old planet.

Fabulous acrostic, Amber, that is both accurate and poignant and you have hand-picked some excellent examples of issues to raise withinthe overall theme. I do hope that your Dedication is aired in Jeffrey and that the action this response crys for is taken up by the students you seek to reach. If our priority is not saving the earth than all other priorities are entirely without foundation and misguided ones. Bless you, Amber, for your ever-listening and pro-active soul. xx

It's a good message for today's youth who are bombarded by too many products BUT what the Earth needs saving from is US, and our convenience orientated lifestyle!
