Poseidon’s  Spirit

She came into the world a bit past the full moon,

And before the pelting of sleet and snow.

As midnight tolled she did arrive,

In a softly falling sprinkle of rain.

Fitting, I presume,

That she would arrive on the front end of a storm,

With a sire named Poseidon,

And her dam, Spirit bringing her forth.

Yes, Names are so meaningful, Karen! They can often encapsulate the essence of who we are and who we're destined to be. We shall look forward to hearing of her adventures in due course and expect them to be full of a unique dynamism! :)) xx

A lovely poem to celebrate the birth of a foal. I bet there is a sense of motherhood involved as you watch one of these small creatures being born and when it rises up on its allfours and takes its first steps.
