The Children of May
In June the leaves are long to fall
But the nights grow longer soon withal
Leaving majesty behind and barrenness to follow
Where longed-for rays of light turn leaves red and yellow
In June also the young ones dance
Taunting time and respecting only happenstance
Growing slowly into youth's bearded time
They drink of the sunlight as though of fine wine!
When the cold begins to come
And faded young hearts chase tthe setting Sun
The birds of Spring do hastily fly away
Awaiting with the children the merry month of May!
But when May returns the children are older
Though time toucheth not green trees and granite boulder
Reminding the little ones that time itself ageth not
Excepteth to pass and to take all they've got!

| TRUE TIME ITSELF DOES NOT AGE...THOUGH IT DOES AGE THOSE IT TOUCHES, BUT THE 'CHILDREN' OF MAY CAN BE AGELESS. THANKS FOR SHARING, LOVE AND BLESSINGS...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |
