The Wonderful Blessing of having had her as a member of our family for nearly 18 years...far outweighs our sorrow for the 'rest' to which she has so deservedly gone. Candi...she was loved and will always be in our hearts

Candi(pronounced Candy)

A winsome, fluffy fur ball...

my daughter got her when she was just six weeks

named for her rich mixed calico growth

...by a family friend who is now deceased

From her first 'getting to know you' tour

with her precious 'mews'...

that she was something special

...this everyone knew

She was insatiably affectionate

and this never, ever changed

tho' near the end...she slowed & hearing left

but her need to give & receive love...remained

Hers was a personality so unlike a feline

like a pup...she'd  readily jump into your lap

then lick your face and neck

in a way so rare...this is a fact

Did she seem to be more human than most?

...amongst ourselves we'd often debate

then it was concluded...it was her mild gentleness

that enhanced her natural traits

But, even if the signs are all there

one still cannot quite prepare...

thus...when on monday, she left us so peacefully

in a manner reflective of  'her'...sleeping away

it still caused our hearts...to sorrowfully sway

My daughter had her cremated

her ashes are in an urn

she couldn't bear to discard any of her

not now...at the final turn

Her presence was a blessing

...far beyond measure

she'll forever be a timeless memory

she was...a gift from God...a treasure

A Lovely Lady Has Left Us

...Candi...

..

I especially like this one -- it is purely from your human heart. Though I am a dog person, I understand the feeling. I have buried many a best friend in my time. Well done.

How brilliant that Candi had such loving people. So many cats never know such love nor are allowed to share their love.
Such a blessing of a gift.

Oh, Joyce. I am so sorry. I am old enough that I have lost a lot of
beloved friends who happened not to be human in the literal sense.
It is devastating. People who don't have pets have no idea what they
are missing, do they? They teach us so much! Most importantly, to
love with all our being. Without condition!!

Candi sounds wonderful. Our Sugar was blind in one eye and couldn't walk toward the end. She couldn't have been more beautiful to my
husband and I. Our dog Nicky misses her, too, bless his heart.

On another subject, you look pretty in pink! Love the dress you are wearing in your photo.

Got a wonderful smile.

Wonderful m e m o r i e s.

Can't take those away !!

Hugging you to my heart,

Phyllis

Joyce, the loss of a dear friend is never an easy circumstance to cope with. That Candi blessed your home and family for eighteen years is a gift you will not forget. I am sorry for your loss. Friends are not easy to come by. Good, loyal friends are a rarity in life. May love joy and peace be with you my friend. Jon Michael

This is a very nice tribute to a pet that ultimately was a part of your family, almost as if she were a child. We grow so fond of the affection our pets give us, and it hurts to see them go. May God bless you every day of your life.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Dear Joyce. You've lost a beloved friend and although some people don't like when you say it, such a loss is like losing a child. I've been through this experience a few times recently and it hurts, how it hurts.
Stay strong, but I know it's not easy.
