This reminds me of the song One Tin Soldier (The Legend of Billy Jack)where she sings:
"Go ahead and hate your neighbor
go ahead and cheat a friend
do it in the name of heaven
you can justify it in the end
there won't be any trumpets blowing
come the judgment day
on the bloody morning after
one tin soldier rides away".
There are way too many charlatans in our country professing to be the voice of God almighty, but yet, one minister says burn the Koran and another says yoga is unchristian like. So, where do we go from here?
We are borrowing money from China and other countries just to stay afloat. What agreements did our government make for this bailout? Has our democratic principles been buried in the sand, never again to be found?
As long as Old Glory waves above my head, I will be glad to call myself an American, and I will defend the freedoms that Old Glory and Lady Liberty stand for. This reminds me of Lee Greenwood's song God Bless The USA, where he says:
"And I'll gladly stand up,
next to you
and defend her still today
cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless The USA".
Let freedom ring from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, let the freedom of the ages come back and gives us that mighty spirit we once had that we fought so well against King George, and to keep this country whole in the civil war, and how we fought with bravery against the Kaiser, against Adolf Hitler, and communist china in Korea and Vietnam.
"On second thought
I do like to brag
I'm mighty proud
of that ragged old flag"
So let's keep God's light shining on thee from sea to shining sea.
Thank you for sharing sis and sorry for the rant, but when I read of people demeaning what our country is all about and the principles we stand for, my blood just boils. GO AMERICA!

A modern day Isaiah!
Remarkable poem, seeing beyond the smokescreen; avoiding the sleeping gas. Being Awake!
Poignancy, as I've never read before.
I wonder how many have read this, but dissed it?
If America were to come out and speak like you, brave and true. It would win its respect again. And we'd here the founding fathers cheer!

Sherry, you hit the nail on the head. I, a majority of one, will always stand up to those [even from my own family] who want to rape our planet and get away with it, throw our freedom to the wind to save their assets unworked for, and screaming religious belief that would make Jesus roll over in his grave.

| A salutory yet clear-eyed view of what appears to be taking place all over in unquenchable streams of madness yet also in the name of progress and democracy. Commerce and politics practice their own views of expedience and they are seldom ones that make for the global common good... only their instigators' short-term goals. Yes, Sherry... no matter what we might sit down to write about, the subconscious will have her say. Right between the eyes, this one. Bless you. xx |

Yes. The oceans have been poisoned, soon we won't have dolphins. Food is bad, I try not to partake. The dollar is evil. I agree that we have sunk to a new low, and that no one seems to know how to think. Yes, our birthright is a thing of the past.
