Blue, blue skies
And a big yellow sun
Usher in
October and autumn;
After
An unbearably hot summer
We're finally blessed
With seasonably cooler
Temperatures
And the colorful brightening
Of the trees.
Halloween
Is within reach,
With Thanksgiving
And Christmas
Just beyond,
All are
Seasons
Of friends and family
(And food),
And filled
With the anticipation
Of the young,
As well as
The young-at-heart.
We count our blessings
And give from our bounty
As we approach the New Year
With hope for peace,
Prosperity,
And the recognition
That we really are
A world of brothers
And sisters,
And children
Of God, all.
