My father passed on Martin Luther King day four years ago...He was my coach for softball and then came along when I made the ALL-STAR team. Always loved and never judged. ~peace~

ALL-STAR

Standing before a large crowd
Ready to throw the first fast pitch
Father is on the sidelines smiling
Winding my arm around two times
Everyone is quiet with anticipation
Will it be a hit, or a lucky strike out?
Feeling confident releasing the ball
Crowd stands up and begins to cheer
Father is proud of his all star daughter
Coaching me to be the strike out queen
In my mind I can always go back there
Memories stay vivid and crystal clear
Time rewinds as if he were really here

I just felt your feelings so deeply. My ex husband was my daughter's coach when she played little league..She has these same fond memories, but he is still here with us. Your dad would be very proud of you right now as he was then. Your tribute to a fine man and father shines in this poem.

I have to tell you, your bio pic is hot, hot, hot! Nice eyes tell it all...lol

Much peace, love and light, my spirit sister,
Amber

Heartfelt tribute, Ches...It's time to listen to John Fogerty's Centerfield. There are so many great family fathers out there, even ones who are single parenting. It's great to have a dad who takes an interest in his children who grow to be adults who appreciate those memories...be well.

This piece was a lovely reflection of your Dad. I did not know you were a pitcher. Hmm I wonder how I would do against you.:)
