(In the picture, BOLINHA, one of the over 100 dogs living at the PARQUE DA TERRA NOVA - "NEW EARTH PARK" - refuge, in Northern Portugal. Most of the dogs rescued by P.T.N. have disabilities, chronic health problems, have been victims of severe abuse or cruelty, or are unwanted seniors)

I wish I could sow, in your consciousness, even the tiniest of grains of the perception of what the look in the eyes of a dog conveys. Then, and there, from the natural essence that you, and him or her, and I share – the essence of the Living Being – would sprout, then blossom, fertile, expanded to the infinite, the awareness, free of weeds of domination or of reason, of the Sentient Being – be it, in substance, human... or dog.”
