Just a little poem for a spring day

The morning mist rolls across the island
up and down through the harbor.
In the cove above the harbor beach
where the old fishing boats rot
In the watery morning sun as seal
breaks water and watches me with
with round brown eye. I must seem
a very exotic beasts, what with my
two legs, and, two arms, and, my way
of going over the dry land . Of course,
I don't take too much of his attention.
The white fish are up, and he's hungry.
So with a final look the seal slips under
the water in pursuit of a meal. While
I tramped up the path to home doing
approximately the same thing

We share a surname and my husbands name is John (Jack) for short; which is really odd since they both have four letters.
Did you ever wonder about that.....?
I enjoyed the Harbour Seal and the similarity of the two species.
