That the “all in all” theological cure
Is for you to think like me.
|
One day I got on Facebook
For theology to discuss.
My curiosity forced me to take a look,
To see, “What’s all the fuss?”
The subjects were so numerous
Upon the theological thread,
To be honest, some were humorous
And I couldn’t believe the posts I read.
Worship, being a sacred rite
Was a favorite to converse
And you best be ready for a fight
If you don’t post book, chapter and verse.
No instruments or clapping hands
Or choirs can we allow.
No soloists or praise team bands
No hands raised as we bow.
The women are to be silent
When it comes to preaching the word.
So we ask them to be compliant
A woman quiet? How absurd
We put down one another
Those liberal/conservatives who disagree
A sister or a brother,
That doesn’t think like me.
I must be right, I know I’m right
You’re wrong, you’re wrong, you’re wrong.
And so we continue to devour and bite
It’s always the same old song.
A Samaritan and a demon
Was what Jesus had been called.
And a drunkard and a glutton
At Him so many were appalled.
So often we can be so sure
And are baffled why others can’t see.
That the “all in all” theological cure
Is for you to think like me.
(John 8:48; Luke 7:33-35)

| Ernie, If we could all be 'consecrated to Him' we could move beyond theology and into Relationship...which is far better! Well written! Blessings...Frances |
