Poetry by Liana Margiva

Twelve months I waited for the name to ring

The one my heart forever chose to sing.

Behold, the Sun dimmed down on Summer day

And heralded the sad news as I prayed

With candle in my hand for poet’s life.

Alas, he ended his eternal strife

And left the em’rald pastures of this world

To sit with Lord in his celestial court.

My heart is filled with deep and nagging pain,

My eyes with tears fill time and again,

But futile are my efforts to drain out

The vessel filled with grief, without doubt.

Oh, gentle poet, how I wish you knew

The depth of love I nursed inside for you!

And how I cherished more than earthly things

Your words that glow like prized pearls on strings

As if I knew ahead that your Earth years

Were shorter than my days, all filled with tears.

I used to fill with pride when, basking in your fame,

Sometimes you were so kind to say my name.

Immortal poets I have known before

Who wrote volumes of undying lore,

But never in my life I met the one

In flesh and blood, and now he is gone!

The stormy clouds march along the sky

They whisper: there’s no death, don’t cry!

God loved the poet (mentioned not in vain) -

He mercifully rid him of his pain.

God loved the poet? Maybe loved too much.

Endowed the man with talent hard to touch.

A talent given only from above

To single mortals who deserve His love.

But even if he failed to earn his name,

I would have loved him all the very same.

The poet’s soul ascended to the sky

And from this day on, as we mourn and cry,

God has acquired a new and trusted friend

Who’ll keep him company for centuries on end.

God’s gain, my loss, but poets never die,

They are committed to eternal time,

God gives them wounded hearts to bleed destined

So verse in blood forever is inscribed.

That’s why in light of day and dark of night

The poets scream with pain and shake with fright

When they extract the words from scars that bleed

On their hearts, for all of us to heed.

Hey, there, dazzling stars exploding with delight!

Move over for the Earth’s biggest star,

The one that’s shadowed all its peers on sky

For all of us eternally to shine!

A tribute to one that sowed seeds of reality that produced fruts of love; a Poet that stimulated and inspired all that met him to understand the greatness of the Human Race; a Poet whose Quil soared in altitude high to paint words of creativity... "To Georg Mateos"

this poem sings to enchant my soul, and to oriflamme the immortality of a Poet that wrote syllables of love.

Much gratitude to You, milady Poet, for sharing this huge gold nugget from the mine of Your heart.

In respect and admiration,

George was also an active member of my own website.

In the last letter he wrote to me he said he could no longer walk outside to get his mail without being out of breath. All he could do was sit in his recliner.

I'm glad his suffering is over. He's not dead; merely out of sight for now.

I can feel the emotions and deep love through your words. You could not have said it better. I have not been able to write about Georg, I am still too sad, my words will not come. Thank you, I agree with all that you have said about our den father, Georg Mateos. He is very loved and respected. We will all miss him dearly.

Much peace, love and light,

Liana, your heartfelt poetic tribute saddens me and is the first time that I have become aware of our dear friend Georg's fate. Despite hoping that he was well yet expecting the worst for him for some time. Every now and then we are blessed to encounter a unique and talented personality such as our dear den friend Georg. Not simply another person or poet we become aware of but a truly special person. Georg was just that. A very special man we shall all miss. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

His talent was known throughout the world and his love for his fellow man was in the sacrifice he braved to keep us all free fighting in 3 wars always at the forefront when our liberty was challenged. A brave Marine who now serves God in heaven. I will miss him as will all who were blessed to know him. His poetry is left for the ages.

Liana, I hope you never drain out. Your heart, and emotional strength, and your finely gifted poetic mind is a real blessing to me as it is to a host of others. You have composed a perceptive and poignant tribute to a fine gentleman, and a talented man. Georg was indeed special and touched many deeply. I wrote a tribute to George in 2009 entitled "Even the gods know of him"... Halloween (at Authors den) will never be the same without him. Peace and love to you ... richard
