My jumbled bedroom suddenly ignites
A fire within my mind to create verse
I gaze upon the pile of ugly sights
And wonder if it ever could be worse.
I suddenly compare it with my thought
Of things around the world that are so bleak
I wonder what it is that we have brought
Upon our nation that has made us weak.
America has always been so strong
But now our leadership has let us down
We have to find a way to undo wrong
And not allow our global world to drown
Apologies and pleas have gone unheard
By other countries we have helped so much
Wake up America and heed the word
Before we lose our helping hand and touch
So now I think I’ll try to clean my room
And pass along my thoughts to all of you
Together we must try to prevent doom
From ruining our land we love so true .
