To Those Still in Search
Loving you makes me swallow my pride
So much so that I run and hide.
They say love is like the ebb and flow
But I am always at a low.
While you create your illusion
I live in the shadow of your delusion.
Every moment, at every turn, you erase
Until my certificate of birth is without a trace.
My prison within this extension
Leaves me without evolution.
You may believe you hold me dear,
But goodbye, my love, never fear.

|Love can be freeing or a deep well that is a trap. This is so telling of the kind that is not freeing!|

|Take your key
Unlock the door
Your prision then
Will be no more
Tell the warden
You've had enough
As you lock him in
And call his bluff

|This is a little different from your other poems. This is a good, sad love poem. The words in this poem are powerful. Love isn't always happy.|

|OUCH! Very well written, there is a hurting in these words, to be sure, but nay, not for long, not for a heart that is true.|

|Love is indeed often blind and causes us to forget pride and our own well being. Your poem reflects that it is fine if the feeling is recipricol but if not...yes it is time for you to part and take up the search again.
