Garden of Darkness

Shades of twilight, shades if gray,

fragile hopes have slipped away,

buried in an empty tomb,

where the darkest spirits loom.

Moaning winds have swiftly passed,

omens of a love long passed.

Fate had laid it's fickle plan,

some shall lose...and some shall win.

Where lush forests hide from sight,

sacred secrets in despair,

how the lonely heart must beat,

left to breathe this tainted air.

No way out, no path defined,

where the surly woodbine twines.

Fallen beds of leaves and woe,

eerie remnants none can know.

Shadows, now, have shrunk from sight,

only faintest stars shed light.

Palest moon looms in the mists,

flowers dead from poison's kiss.

Softly seeking, softly weeping,

yet, abandoned souls are keeping,

hopeless vigils in this place,

where love left...without a trace.
