Darned if I know where this came from. I was sitting at my desk last night and it just spewed out. |

ODE TO OPTIMISM
This is the time to be me;
No time better;
Might as well be now.
Ditch the doldrums-
No walls, no closets;
Here I am!!!
God knows I can make it.
Made it so often before;
In spite, or maybe even because
Of everything;
And there have been a lot
Of everythings,
There always have been.
A cockeyed optimist?
Yes, perhaps.
But if I’m to be
The captain of my own ship,
Then aside from God
I can count on no one else.
Steer boldly,
Full speed ahead,
I’m on my way.

Great, inspiring piece, Chip
I felt growing encouragement and inspiration as I read each line.
Continued success!
