One MORE Thing I Know

out with the dark...in with the light

I know I talked to a slug with legs...
on his toes were three gold rings
and I know this worm could fly
if I could only find his wings.

I know when the sun lights up the night
and if I could stay awake
I'd see them race to the bottom of the hill
to swing on the old garden gate.

So I know if a slimey slug can run
and a lazy fat worm can fly...
there must be a few purple raindrops
that can fall up from the ground to the sky.

I like this. I am a big believer (little) kids see things we don't. Nicely written. ~ Morgan

A very creative and imaginative poem. Aurora borealis are dropping from the sky as I write this. May worms fly as butterflies in the eternal sky.

I'm certainly with you with the "out with the dark...in with the light" thing, Pat. This was a cute poem, and actually made sense to me. I think I saw those purple raindrops a few times back in the sixties, and yes, they were falling from the ground to the sky.
