Around six o'clock a.m., four or five days a week,
I begin my early morning walk.
Sometimes it is dawn and I can barely see;
Most times it is bright and I have a clear view;
In my spirit there is a sense of wonder and the
awareness that each morning is a new morning.
Oftentimes I am greeted by the moon, scurrying
squirrels gracefully dancing; deer grazing, gazing
and eyeing me to see if I am a friend or foe, or
singing birds that cause me to sing, if for no other
reason than to let them know that I appreciate their singing.
Sometimes people passing in cars toot their horns
to say "Hello," "I love you" or "Thank you for
singing."
My three to four mile early morning walk is a
sanctuary that affords me with delights that are not available at any time other than early in the morning.
As I walk I am aware that "Presence with a capital "P" is guiding me each step I take. And even though I walk by myself I do not walk alone.
Returning to my abode, after at least an hour's walk, I am invigorated, joyful and conscious that my health is enhanced because I took an early morning walk.
I feel confident that the rest of my day will be beautiful because I took an early morning walk.
