Those Who Remember
By La Belle Rouge

Today I read something you wrote to me
how foolish of me to have thought
my tears had all been cried
pain stabbed my heart
and I wept for you
and for me

To say I miss you is an understatement
it feels as if a part of me has died
I thought that with time’s flow
the pain would lessen or go
but it only dulls briefly
until I think of you

Oh, I’ve heard all the spiritual platitudes
about those who’ve passed on and will
always be with us, invisibly in spirit
but it will never be the same as
companionship we enjoyed
rapport we shared

Death is the best and worst part of life
the best for the sick and suffering
who long to fly away free
worst for the ones who
will always love them
and remember

there it is, you've said it with the honesty all hearts know - we can never fully reproduce the magic of the moments when we stood face to face, side by side with those we loved once they are no more - within our memories the passion still burns, yet it will never be the same as when they were here - this is the work of a wise and passionate artist and I will savor its influence on my views long - Belle, you said this thing with grace and wisdom my dear friend - I wish you love and peace - Jon Michael

Beautiful poem with tenderness and empathy of praise.

My friend Kathy's spirit yesterday morning. She is at peace as a
hummingbird came to rest on my trelles during a rain shower.
Thank you for these words for they are a blessing.

You have a gentle way of saying it, Belle,
but in that gentleness there is, too,
a steel i admire and an incredible heart.
This is just so good.

Those last lines tell it all. That brings the end of suffering for the sick and the beginning of suffering for the living who miss them.

Dear Belle, yes the hurt is overwhelming sometimes, but don't make them sad, or cry, for they know your feelings too, love does not vanish into thin air, remember, and hug yourself, you'll be hugging them too, bless your deep feeling heart, hugs!
